“How A Church Gets Graded”: 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10

How would God grade his people? In the opening chapter of 1 Thessalonians, Paul gives out high marks for the exemplary faith and love of the believers in Thessalonica. This fledgling church became a model for other believers, even in the midst of persecution. This passage provides a beautiful picture of sincere Christian community and mission. Join us this Sunday as we study this important text together and consider how we can follow the Thessalonians’ example of joyful faith, hope-filled endurance, and loving service. Let’s examine our own lives and church body in light of the standard set by these first-century believers as we strive together to share the gospel with power and conviction.
